SVHS Video Tape Transfer
DVD, USB or Digital Files - From £18
We transfer all S-VHS and camcorder video tape formats, past and present, to DVD. Prices start £25 per video tape for transfer of up to 3 hours of S-VHS tape with discounts for6 or more. If your s-VHS tape is longer than this we charge £7/hr per extra hour.
We operate under the Kodak umbrella which is you assurance of quality and service. It should also give you peace of mind when mailing us your S-VHS to DVD work. This S-VHS service is exclusive to Kodak Express Highgate in London.
SVHS Cost and Service Details
- 1-5 tapes are £25 each
- 6-10 tapes are £22 each
- 11 plus tapes are £18 each
- Any mix of domestic video or camcorder tapes
- VHS tapes longer than 3 hours are charged at £5 per extra hour
- Turn around time is currently 10 working days
- A rush service is available - ask for a quote
- You can have DVDs or editable computer files
- We have a video tape repair service for broken tapes

How to Order
If you don't see what you require then email us your SVHS to query Give us your S-VHS video tape to DVD work at our London Studios or post your work to us with your instructions and telephone number. On receipt of your video tape we will phone you to confirm your instructions and take payment by credit card over the phone.
Editable MP4 Computer Files
We can transfer your SVHS tape to a data DVD or USB or HD as editable files for editing on your own computers. We give you digital MP4 files suitable for editing on MACs and PCs. Alternatively give the video tape to us and we can edit it for you. Editable file sizes can be very large (up to 5gb/hr) so you may need to supply an external hard drive or large capacity USB stick.We can also supply USB sticks at a small additional cost.
Extra DVDs
Although DVDs last a lifetime without deterioration in quality one scratch or scuff mark will render it unplayable. For this reason we strongly advise you to order an extra DVD back up copy of your Video work - the cost is only £6 per tape and well worth it for peace of mind
SVHS & Copyright
It is a condition of using our service that you own the copyright to the material on the SVHS video tape. If it is commercial material which your originally bought we can make one copy to DVD.
We only carry out S-VHS work on the above understanding.
SVHS Info
NTSC-PAL
Many countries such as Japan, parts of South America and USA use the NTSC TV standard.
If you have a SVHS video tape in NTSC format you can use our NTSC to PAL conversion service.
The cost is £50 per 3 hour SVHS video tape.
Video Tape Repair
We can fix any type of physical damage to the tape such as snapped or entangled tape, tapes which are immediately ejected and replacing the tape housing.
We cannot generally fix problems associated with bad recordings (too light or too dark), camera equipment malfunctions and sound problems.
