Convert to DVD or Editable Files - From £10
The cost of transferring miniDV tapes to DVD starts at just £10 inc VAT. We give discounts for six or more mini DV tapes. For those of you with miniDV camcorder tapes who cannot make it into the shop we have an excellent MiniDV online/mail order service.
This mini-DV transfer service is exclusive to our Kodak Express store in Camden London were all work is done by trained staff - ensuring a quality result.
MiniDV Cost and Service Details
- 1-5 tapes are £20 each
- 6-10 tapes are £15 each
- 11 plus tapes are £10 each
- Any mix of domestic video or camcorder tapes
- Turn around time is currently 10 working days
- A 24 hour service is available at 50% extra
- You can have DVDs or editable computer files
- We have a video tape repair service for broken tapes
How to Order
If you cannot make it into our shop simply post your tapes to us - don't forget to include your instructions, address and telephone number. On receipt of your work we will call you, confirm your instructions, and take payment by credit card over the phone.
Editable MP4 Computer Files
We can transfer your miniDV tape to a data DVD as editable files for editing on your own computers. We give you digital MP4 files suitable for editing on MACs and PCs. Alternatively give the MiniDV tape to us and we can edit it for you. Editable file sizes can be large so you may need to supply an external hard drive or large capacity USB stick. We can also supply USB sticks at cost
Extra DVDs
Although DVDs last a lifetime without deterioration in quality one scratch or scuff mark will render it unplayable. For this reason we strongly advise you to order an extra DVD back up copy of your MiniDV Video work - the cost is only £6 per tape and well worth it for peace of mind
MiniDV & Copyright
By asking us to transfer your video tapes you are giving us an assurance that you are the copyright owner or that you have permission from the copyright owner to duplicate the work.
We only accept Video to DVD transfer work on this basis.
MiniDV Extra
NTSC-PAL
NTSC is a video format standard widely used in many other parts of the world such as USA. Japan and much of South America.
So if your tape was originally filmed in any of these countries it will need to be converted to PAL format to play on UK TV systems.
The cost of NTSC transfer to PAL and encoded to DVD is £40 per MiniDV video tape.
Video Tape Repair
We can fix any type of physical damage to the tape such as snapped or entangled tape, tapes which are immediately ejected and replacing the tape housing.
We cannot generally fix problems associated with bad recordings, camera equipment malfunctions and sound problems.
If you have accidentally erased the tape we cannot restore the footage.
