All Albanian citizens living abroad may apply for a 10 year Albanian Passport providing the following original documents:

1. One Albanian birth Certificate (issued within the last 3 months)
2. Five photographs (50x40 mm, 70% of the face in white background)
3. A personal request addressed to the Albanian Embassy with the own personal details; actual residence, profession, family status, contact telephone number)

An Albanian citizen under 16 years of age who has never married is regarded as a child. A passport application for a child must be lodged by a parent or another person who carries responsibility for the child.

A child cannot be included in an albanian adult's passport. Each child, including a newborn infant, must be issued their own albanian passport.The validity of a child’s albanian passports (up to 16 of age) is normally valid for 5 years.

For such a procedure the following documents are required:

1. The child's full original Albanian birth certificate. Original documents required
2. A family certificate
3. Five Albanian Passport Photos (50x40 mm, 70% of the face in white background)
4. A written consent from parents or guardians.

How to obtain a special attorney

All Albanian citizens living abroad may apply directly to the Embassy for a 10 year Albanian Passports, or alternatively obtain a special attorney, authorizing one of the relatives to undertake all deeds to complete the procedures needed for collecting a passport in Albania.

The documents required to obtain a special attorney are as follows:

1. One Albanian birth certificate of the applicant.
2. A detailed information of the authorised person.
