Current Austrian passport and visa photo requirements

• Printed biometric format: 35 x 45 mm, recent (normally within 6 months), colour, with the head filling roughly two-thirds of the image and not exceeding 36 mm.
• Background and pose: Plain light background, preferably light grey; full face, neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes clearly visible and even shadow-free lighting.
• No alteration: No distortion, filters or digital changes to appearance. Visa applicants must also follow the checklist issued by the relevant Austrian mission.

Bring the current application checklist or portal reference, especially for visas, residence permits, identity cards and children.

For online orders, send an original, unedited photo with space around the head and shoulders. We will crop and size it to the selected requirements, but we do not alter facial features or guarantee acceptance of an unsuitable source image.

Note: Although Austrian passport paper application requires two photos, you might be
requested for 3 photos at the time of submission. Visas - Member of EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland don't need an austrian visa.
